PREVIEW TIME!
Next Tuesday, September 9th at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT, I’ll be live on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Generative AI. And the questions already coming in aren’t softballs:
Where’s AI really headed in 10 years?
Can it save time and money outside of coding?
Who’s accountable when it makes mistakes?
These aren’t hype questions. They’re the questions that determine whether AI becomes useful in the enterprise — or just another buzzword that fades.
I just dropped a quick video preview for this, but here’s the full story.
Welcome To “Nobody Cares”
If you’re new to this blog, welcome!
I hope you’ll enjoy it enough to consider subscribing and sharing it.
I write about what I’ve learn as a technology executive over the last 25 years. I’ve done startups from inception and helped scaled them. I’ve been acquired. I’ve acquired companies. I’ve worked at mid-size companies going IPO. I help scale Data, AI and Analytics businesses at Microsoft and Google.
The below are my thoughts. No one’s paying me to write this—not my employer, not anyone. You don’t have to agree. I welcome smart debates. I write this to learn from smart people, regardless if they agree with me or not.
🚀 The Big Themes (and Why They Matter)
Substance vs. Hype
We’ve passed the “ooh shiny” phase. As I argued in Generative AI Has Passed Peak Hype, the enterprise is now demanding results. Value isn’t in clever demos — it’s in integration, transparency, and impact.
Platforms > Lone Agents
Forget the myth of a single super-agent. In It’s Not About the Agents, I wrote that the real power is orchestration: many agents, working across workflows, tuned to business reality. It’s less Agent Cacophony, more Agent Symphony.
Trust, Ethics & Alignment
In Nobody Cares About Your System of Record, I emphasized that tech succeeds only when people trust it. AI is no different. Without explainability, fairness, and accountability, adoption will stall.
Real Enterprise Impact
And in The Gen-AI-fication of Analytics, I explored how AI is reshaping analytics. The lesson applies everywhere: AI can’t be bolted on as a sidecar. It has to be embedded (not just infused) directly into workflows people already rely on.
What I’ll Tackle in the AMA
– AI’s 10-year horizon: evolution, not revolution.
– How enterprises can manage the cost of inference at scale.
– Governance, attribution, and security as the foundation of trust.
– Why integration beats prompts when it comes to real-world value.
